The Central and Southern New Zealand Craniofacial Program treats
children and young adults with deformities of the skull, orbits
and face.
Craniofacial Surgery is performed conjointly with neurosurgeons
Martin MacFarlane in Christchurch and Agadha Wickremesekera in Wellington.
Approximately 50- 60 major craniofacial cases are performed each
year including some cases from overseas.
Multidisciplinary Craniofacial clinics are held in Hawkes Bay, Wellington,
Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin.
A referral from your family doctor or Paediatrician is needed to
be seen in these clinics.
Members of the Craniofacial team are involved with teaching craniofacial
surgery in developing countries and participate regularly in craniofacial
research and education.
